If you want to get into a range of DHB placements you will need to first complete the following:

Medical Screening Required:

Recent Flu Vacine

General Requirements (All staff):

Additional Registered Nursing requirements:

Medicine management needs to be updated yearly. This is called Infusion Therapy and Medicine Management at WDHB. You will be eligible for a certificate once the minimum modules 1-3 are completed on the Ko Awatea site.

For those wanting to be assigned to shifts in WDHB, you need to have completed modules 1-5 (at a bare minimum, all of modules 1-3).

Module 6 is very useful, as it includes cannulation. The rest are interesting, but ‘optional’ at present.

Additional Requirement if interested in HRBC Mental Health and Addictions Services placements.

Levels of Observation inpatient services (MH&AS) 2017

We will prioritise staff who have also completed the Waikato DHB Orientation and Fire Safety training. As you know, we encourage additional education, the more training the better. There are many  courses on the Ko Awatea site that are very interesting; at the very least, please have a look through some of the courses available.
